I am passionate about children's education, life-changing technologies, and making the world a better place one step at a time.
Hi! I am Joanna! I am fascinated with emerging technologies and how we can use them to engage in and learn from scenarios and adventures we could scarcely have imagined before. I have a master's degree in Digital Media Design for Learning (with a concentration on Games for Learning) from NYU.
I specialize in emerging technology such as AR and VR. I have designed and delivered several educational products including the VR T.Rex exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History and various games in the science and STEM field.
I am fluent in human-centered user experience design and up to date with current trends in educational technology. I regularly works with scientists and educators, creating experiences that are truthful representations of science while making them appealing to the general public.
Previously, I worked in youth organizations and non-profit organizations as an educational program outreach coordinator. I founded Voice K Magazine - a place where children explore the world through journalism. I helped children to write about their experiences and opinions. Together, we visited more than 200 events in Toronto and New York, interviewing people from many different industries, including film director Michael Moore, astronaut Chris Hadfield, and writer Margaret Atwood; they later documented these conversations in print magazines and video creations.
